Developed by the mining experts at Caterpillar®, the battery-powered SH650 represents the culmination of the company’s almost 90 years of heavy equipment design. Best of all, the SH650 produces no emissions that can burden your mine’s ventilation system thanks to its efficient battery-powered technology.

The SH630 shield mover makes longwall face moves easier and less costly. This specially engineered ultra-heavy-duty machine is capable of lifting and carrying up to 33 tonnes (36 tons). The compact Cat® SH640 D diesel loader was developed to suit cramped mine conditions. The SH640 D carries a massive 40 tonnes (44 tons) on standard forks. The design focuses on haulage of longwall shields and heavier ancillary components of the longwall. Features include turbocharged, after-cooled, 4-cycle diesel engine with 4-speed transmission with manual or electronic push-button powershift with forward / reverse mode; wet bath or dry type exhaust system with diesel particulate filtration; and optional OEM heavy-duty axles with SAHR fail safe brakes.

The VTC680 is the latest addition to the family. With a payload of 72.5 tonnes (80 tons), it sets the bar in the market of battery-powered roof support carriers. Powered by 373 kW (500 hp) and variable frequency drives, this is the largest battery powered vehicle available for underground applications. Features include tri-sectional chassis for superior load handling stability, 100-degree articulation, operator-friendly control compartments, and planetary axles with fail-safe wet disc brakes and SAHR parking brakes.
